Are we going on Mars? What is Terraforming ? | Mars Invasion

You may of heard of the news that we are going to Mars very soon. You may have also heard of the term Terraforming. But What is Terraforming ?Keep on reading for some interesting knowledge

What is Terraforming ?

Terraforming is the process of altering Earth’s or any celestial body’s climate to make it hospitable to a particular species. This can be accomplished through many different methods, each with its own pros and cons.

Terraforming is the process of making a planet or moon habitable. The first step in terraforming is to make the planet or moon more hospitable by removing gases from its atmosphere and replacing them with oxygen. Next, you need to make it more like Earth—that means creating an environment that can support life as we know it here on Earth (and not just microbes).

The third step involves adding plants and animals that are native to this new world; this process can take many years!

Why Terraforming?

There are mainly two main arguments supporting why terraforming is required—the depletion of resources and the Doom’s day argument.

As we all know many natural resources like water, petroleum, and natural gases, etc which are present on Earth are limited and many resources are depleting rapidly. So According to many studies, the Population of Earth is growing at a very fast rate and many useful natural resources are going to be extinct soon. So humans require an alternate solution to this problem and Terraforming mainly focuses on acquiring more land which in turn reduces the burden on Earth.

Many theories claim that Dinosaurs are now extinct because a huge asteroid hit the earth and destroyed everything present at that time. Many scientists claim that there is a possibility that in the future any asteroid or celestial body can become a huge threat to humankind and could possibly lead to human extinction. So with the help of terraforming, human race can save itself from the fear of extinction.

 Terraforming as a Theory

Terraforming is a theory that proposes that Earth can be changed to suit human needs. It was first proposed by the writer Benford D. Brin in his novel The Uplift War, but it was developed by philosopher David Brin after his son’s death from cancer.

Brin explains how terraforming could work: “Earth would be sterilized and then seeded with life forms drawn from other star systems to create a new ecosystem.” He also says that humans should be able to genetically engineer animals like cows or pigs so they could eat them without being worrying about their extinction.

Brin believes this process will take thousands of years due to the need for proper scientific research on each step along the way before moving forward with any kind of action plan.”

 Terraforming as a Reality

Terraforming is the process of creating an environment that’s conducive to human life. This means making it so humans can live there without worrying about things like radiation and extreme temperatures, which are common problems on other planets.

Terraforming is the process of modifying the atmosphere, temperature, surface topography, and ecology of a planet or moon to make it habitable for humans. It is not the same as colonizing: while terraforming may be used to make a planet more like Earth (for example by creating an ocean on Venus), it could also be used to make an entire world suitable for human habitation.

SpaceX is a private company that was founded in 2002 by Elon Musk. The company has been working on the development of rockets and spacecraft for over 15 years. In 2012, SpaceX became the first private company to send a spacecraft to the International Space Station.

Recently Elon Musk, Owner of SpaceX stated about the process of Terraforming Mars. According to Musk, Mars is closest to Earth and most suitable to rehabilitate humans in case of any mishappening on Earth. Many scientific studies suggest the presence of water on Mars, as well as many geological studies, suggest that Mars once harbored a suitable and conducive atmosphere similar to Earth’s.

Indeed there are many disagreements regarding the Terraforming of Mars. One main objection is whether sufficient technological advancement exists with us to carry out such a huge alteration. SpaceX has already announced that by the year 2030 it has planned to set up colonies on Mars.

According to Elon Musk and SpaceX, Mars is the most Earth-like planet and the Martian climate can be terraformed to make it conducive to human existence. According to some reports, the Poles of Mars contain a huge amount of water which eventually will be melted out if the temperature on Mars rises. As per Elon Musk’s plan Nuclear missiles and Hydrogen bombs are to be dropped on these poles which will increase the temperature on Mars very rapidly and water on the poles will start melting, But radiation caused by such nukes will make the place hostile, and uninhabitable. Musk did not clarify such criticisms.

 Conclusion

We hope this article has helped you better understand what is terraforming and how it can be used to expand the capabilities of human existence. We’ll leave it up to you now whether or not you want to start exploring the world around us, or if instead, you’d rather stay here on Earth, where life is easier.
